Knowledge Inspiration Participation - A Different Approach to Early Years Training
Being committed to active learning for both adults and children, I always aim to offer exciting, innovative and practical training which will inspire and instill enthusiasm in those involved.

I believe that training should, wherever possible, be an exciting interactive experience where best practice is explored and shared. With this in mind, time is included in all training sessions and workshops for discussion and the sharing of ideas.

My passion is to support practitioners across all sectors in improving practice within the Early Years Foundation Stage, by working with what we know about children and their developmental needs. All of my training has non violent communication (NVC) and the High/Scope approach at it’s core.

Nonviolent Communication is a process developed by Marshall Rosenberg. It is a way to communicate with greater compassion and clarity and focuses on two things: honest self-expression — exposing what matters to oneself in a way that's likely to inspire compassion in others, and empathy — listening with deep compassion. The central principle of nonviolent communication is that everything a human being does (whether benign or hurtful) is an attempt to meet their human needs. Therefore my training uses NVC as part of working with children in order to create a situation in which everyone’s needs are met at least in part. In particular I facilitate practitioners in communicating compassionately with children in order to recognise and then meet their individual developmental needs.

The High/Scope approach has a similar tenet and uses genuine relationships which respect and value each child’s unique personal and cultural identity to provide an early years foundation stage curriculum. As a result an enabling environment which supports children’s active learning and personal initiative is created.

Please take the time to look at the Early Years Training Courses and Ofsted Consultancy pages of my website for details of the workshops that I run. Unlike many training companies I am happy to offer courses that run on Saturdays and evenings. You are welcome to contact me by phone or email for further details and course availability.
